Council Meetings are held in the Council Chamber, 10 Melrose Road, West Mersea, CO5 8JD.
The Annual Council Meeting on 16th May is a full Council meeting where the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor is the first business.

Annual Town Meeting on 25th April will be held in the Royal British Legion Hall, 39 Barfield Road, West Mersea, CO5 8QX. 
Doors open at 6pm for refreshments and browsing of stalls.
What is the purpose of the Annual Town Meeting?
The purpose of the meeting is so that the Town Council and other local organisations can explain what they have been doing over the last year. It also enables the electors to have their say on anything they consider is important to the people of the Town. The Annual Town Meeting is a meeting of the electorate taking place between 1st March and 1st June each year.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

In accordance with The Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960, members of the public wishing to address the Council have the opportunity to do so during the Public Forum. However, also in accordance with The Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960, the public may be excluded whenever publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted. Members of the public and press are warmly welcomed to attend.

Priority will be given to those members of the public raising points on the agenda. A person may speak no longer than 3 minutes and the total allocated to the public session, as per Standing Orders is 15 minutes, unless extended by the Mayor. Please refer to Standing Orders Section 3 and the Meeting Protocol Policy.

If you wish to raise something with the Town Council and cannot attend then please contact the Town Clerk in advance.
